I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). The REM-820S is an SMA mount designed specifically for use with the SDS100. It will fully seat on the scanner, and has an o-ring to maintain the weather resistance of the scanner.
